What is education? And what does pedagogy mean – when we talk about an African country with huge social, political and cul￾tural inequalities, in the midst of gigantic conflicts that have plagued it for much of its history, the real meanings of excellent coexistence, which ideally could have been built with the intention of bringing education to its people? These are disconcerting ques￾tions that speak to the reality of this country – Angola – so aptly named by the author himself as the “African jewel”, in other words, its natural beauty, its welcoming people, and its ideals of the con￾quest of knowledge, through science, knowledge and full schooling for its people. Thus, it is intended that the reflections contained here do not provide answers, but rather broaden the natural range of questions that are asked because of what has been exposed here. And, if all the questions that the reader may have had from this reading do not have obvious answers, be aware that this is true for everyone, author and readers. For the great motto of the reflection is to broaden thinking, to bring new paradigms to be equally re￾flected upon, allowing the development of future projects, because, in fact, any and all science should foresee, as its ultimate end, the well-being of the society in which the individuals of a collectivity find themselves.
